WATER RESOURCE & DISTRIBUTION TECHNICAL ADVISOR
IR. SHANKAR SANTHIRASTHIPAM
Ir. Shankar is one of our Technical Advisor especially in the area of water resource planning and distribution. He graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil & Structural Engineering from University of Sheffield, Yorkshire, United Kingdom. He has more than 35 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry.
His work experience was largely with Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd, where he was the Head of Section (Project Management) and also a Senior Manager. In his years with Indah Water, he was involved in various projects including 100 sewerage infrastructure projects throughout Malaysian costing about RM 880 million. After that, he migrated and worked in Australia and was involved in many projects cost about AUD 300 million which included water supply upgrades, waste water treatment plant upgrade, water distribution mains upgrade and etc.
His skills possessed skills on substantial water and wastewater related planning, design, project management, contract administration, operational, technical audit and asset management experience. Other than that, he also has considerable experience in the surveys, planning, design, project management, contract administration, commissioning and the operation of major water and wastewater assets. He has knowledge of statutory requirements, regulation and national standards associated with the planning, approval, development, design, construction, completion and handover of water and wastewater related infrastructure schemes, systems and processes.
Ir. Shankar is also a member of the Board of Engineers Malaysia, Institution of Engineers Malaysia, member of the ASEAN Engineers Register/ Institution, graduate member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, United Kingdom, member of ENSEARCH, Malaysia, member of the Australian Water Association and member of the Australian Asset Management Institution.
